1. Our approach to privacy

HC Auto Parts (formerly Honda Center) operates an automotive parts consultation and quotation service based in Saddar, Rawalpindi. We do not conduct automated credit-card checkout, run behavioral advertising trackers, or sell customer databases. We only collect the information necessary to identify the auto part you need, match it to your vehicle, and send you a price.

2. Information We Collect

Part inquiries & quote requests: When you submit a quote request or use our contact form, we collect your name, phone or WhatsApp number, preferred contact method, vehicle specifications (make, model, year, generation, chassis number), and details of the required part.

Quote basket: Parts you add to your quote basket are stored locally in your browser's storage (localStorage). This data remains on your personal device until you submit the inquiry or clear your browser data.

Abuse prevention & rate limiting: Our web servers and rate-limiting infrastructure process your IP address and request timestamps to prevent brute-force attacks and automated form spam.

3. Image Uploads & Photo Security

If you upload a photograph of an existing part, vehicle label, or broken component through our part-request form, it is handled under verified technical security controls:

  • Server-side file inspection: Our backend verifies file headers directly (magic bytes) to ensure only genuine JPEG, PNG, or WebP images up to 4 MB are accepted. File extensions and browser MIME declarations are never blindly trusted.
  • Metadata & EXIF stripping: All uploaded photos are re-encoded to WebP on our server using Sharp before saving. This automatically removes embedded EXIF metadata, camera device details, and GPS location coordinates.
  • Private, non-public storage: Uploaded images are stored in a private bucket with randomized UUID file paths. There are no public URLs. Row-level security restricts photo viewing exclusively to authorized shop personnel who have verified Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA / TOTP).

4. WhatsApp Communication

When you choose to send your quote request via WhatsApp, your message is transferred to WhatsApp (Meta Platforms, Inc.) using standard URL encoding. Your conversation is encrypted end-to-end according to WhatsApp's terms and privacy policy. We only use WhatsApp to discuss your order, verify part photographs, check your chassis details, and provide pricing.

5. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We only share details in the following strict fulfillment scenarios:

  • Local rider delivery: If you request rider delivery within Rawalpindi or Islamabad, your name, contact phone number, and delivery address are shared with the dispatch rider solely to deliver the package.
  • Legal obligations: We may disclose records if required by applicable laws of Pakistan or valid judicial process.
